This is the only mail checker that is robust and capable. Other ones I have tried stop working, dont work at all, or just are gawdy. This mail checker is great!

Background issues resolved (3/20/2009)
I just installed the new complete version of IE8 and the background issues that some have complained about were fixed. I really like this app for weeding out unwanted emails before actually downloading them to my mail application. Thanks

One bug pissing me off! (3/11/2009)
I used to love this gadget - until I started using it to review my emails and delete the junk ones. Several times now when I have selected one to delete, it has deleted ALL my mail!!! And I can't retrieve them from my main account!

Best POP3/IMAP checker, but.... (2/22/2009)
I can confirm the bug when IE8 is installed. The background is missing when the gaget is docked, and when it is floating on the desktop. It still works, and works well, but it isn't very readable if a lighter background/wallpaper is used.

Issue after IE8 RC1 installation (1/30/2009)
Hi, I would like to mention that after installation of IE8 RC1, this gadget is still working, but the layout is not displayed correctly. The usual background has disappaered or have become transparent... I can provide you a screenshot if you need... Thank you in advance

SSLv3 not supported!? (1/8/2009)
I seems to be limited to SSLv2 which can be a problem as a lot of new SSL server installs will have SSLv2 disabled by default due to it being less secure than SSLv3

IMAP Folders = no go (8/28/2008)
I've just tried a few things, but can't find a way to get this to check IMAP folders. For me, that's a deal breaker. About 70% of my email is mailing list traffic that gets filtered straight into folders. If I choose blank or * as my inbox, it doesn't work at all. The only way to get it to work is name a folder, which is very limiting. Especially with a limit of 5 "accounts" (which I would need to use for each folder). Apart from that, it does work OK, and it looks nice.

Feature Request (8/22/2008)
First off, I love this sidebar gadget. I've been using it for over a year now, and it's an essential on my sidebar. I do have a feature request though that would make this even better. Can you please add a 'mark as read' button to the flyout menu? Thanks.

Almost perfect (5/23/2008)
I love this gadget, i use it all the time, its easier then opening up windows mail and allot easier then going to gmail.com . my only complaint is that with gmial, when you say to only show unread e-mails and you named the account, the numbers and name overlap. a temporary fix is to tell it to show both instead if just unread. apart from that its perfect!

Excellent Gadget - possible bug (4/12/2008)
The gadget works very well and is very useful. I think the setup screen options need a bit better explination (help file work)l Probably more important - when I set up my IMAP account, my password contained a special character (^) however the gadget continual reported that I had a username/password error. My IMAP account uses SSL. I finally changed the password to my IMAP account and it worked. I have not attempted to test POP3 or unencrypted IMAP to see if special characters are transmitted over those protocols

Does what it says on the tin (3/5/2008)
Finally, a really useful sidebar gadget. Just wanted something to alert me of new e-mails, not Outlook, not G-bloody-mail!, just simple POP3 mail. Been using on Vista64 for 2 weeks now - flawless. The only thing I would say is it seems to take longer to scan for new e-mails than WinMail does - Odd but no dealbreaker. Thanks to author.
