Excekkebt little gadget, I see some people are confused about it though. (2/10/2009)
Very nice simple gadget. Interesting to see these number totals at the end of the day. Especially since I have 3 screens hooked up and a lot of screen space to travel. :P There are two things I want to point out however: 1) The measurement of how far your mouse has traveled is how far the pointer on the screen has moved, not your physical mouse on the desk. Case in point I move my mouse only an inch or so and the pointer moves 1 foot on screen, the gadget records 1 foot of travel. Put a ruler upto the screen and compare how far down the ruler your pointer has moved with what the gadget records. Mine was only off by 2/100ths of a foot. 2) As for those that say it doesn't run or work, this gadget only works in 32bit, the 64bit sidebar will not run it. If you have a 64bit version of windows it's still possible for you to close the side bar and run it as 32bit on the 64bit OS. There are sidebar.exe's in both the 64 and 32bit Program Files folders, just close the 64bit sidebar that started with windows on boot, go to the 'Program Files (x86)' directory which holds the 32bit version of sidebar and launch that one, suddenly the gadget will work fine. It can be annoying to close one and then open the other each time your machine starts, the easiest fix I've found is to turn off the checkbox in sidebar options to run on startup, then create a shortcut to the 32bit sidebar.exe and put that in your All Programs -> Startup folder in the start menu. Then the 32bit sidebar starts on boot with the 64bit OS and the problem is solved. :)

Needs a 64 bit version (1/23/2009)
Looks like it would work, but I'm 64 bit. Suprised it requires 32 bit, usually 32 bit programs work fine under 64 bit operating systems.

to all who say this is inaccurate (9/1/2008)
first calculate your dot pitch of your monitor, then realize, it is not a foot that you actually move your mouse, but a foot that it moves on the screen.

very cool - 1 request! (8/1/2008)
Very Nice! I want to see how much I use my mouse in a week and especially clicks (hand/wrist issues). It would be even cooler it it tracked how much you use the scroll wheel!

works 100% and acurrate (5/26/2008)
if it is off allot change the screen dot pitch. to calculate your screen dot pitch go to Google and type in screen dot pitch calculator and you should find a website that should ask you for your screen size and resolution then you hit calculate and it will give you your screen dot pitch.
