Windows Media Center Gadgets for Windows SideShow (64 bit) includes four gadgets—TV, Music, Pictures and Video, and Now Playing—that you can use to control most Media Center functions from a SideShow-compatible device.

For instance, you can use the TV gadget to browse the program guide, schedule recordings, and browse and play back recorded TV shows. With the Music gadget you can browse and play music. Use the Pictures and Video gadget to browse pictures on your device and play slideshows and video. The Now Playing gadget provides information on what is playing in Media Center and provides playback controls like those on your Media Center remote.

Note: This gadget is for the 64-bit version of Windows Vista. If you’re running the 32-bit version of Windows Vista, download and install the 32-bit version of Windows Media Center Gadgets from the Windows Live Gallery website.

Doesn't Work With Latest Media Center (04/11/2008)
It's a shame this doesn't work with TV Pack 2008... considering that this gadget came out (was published for end users) after TV Pack 2008 was released. Hopefully an update will come soon to fix this.

I agree (12/12/2008)
I'm also running TV Pack and am disappointed that this gadget doesn't work. I understand that the VMC control API has been "updated", but now there are a number of applications that depend on this API that simply don't work. As with all Microsoft products, I'm forced to "patiently" wait for a solution.

Its a Start (12/12/2008)
Was hoping for a nicer GUI ,more of a VCM kinda experiance, would be reslly nice to hsve more of a touch flow kind of experiance.I wish I had some experiance at developing something like this, the opening graphics were nice, but would like to see nicer media controls.

Works OK with Win7 Ultimate X64 (07/12/2009)
Install it then goto control panel--> Programs --> Turn windows features on|off and untick windows gadget platform, let it do its thing and reboot then go back to it and tick it....your gadget will now be in "gadgets" and should work as normal. Re: Snuffs

Just opens Media Center (23/11/2009)
As far as I can tell, this gadget just opens a window for Windows Media Center. Very disappointing. I was hoping I could have a gadget controller for the music on my machine (that would show the song playing and allow me to control it--such as play, pause, forward and reverse). Am I missing something here? If I click on "play," it just opens Windows Media Center. Does anybody know of a gadget that will control my music?
