This gadgets going places! (19/12/2007)
Although I did ultimately uninstall it, I'll be checking in again to see if future versions come out with some wanted options. Pros: Works well, no problems. Cons: Needed a few skin options, maybe a layout change should be conisidered.

Nice Gadget. Espacially the one i was looking for. Grats. Do you implemented an autoupdate if you release a newer version? Perhaps thats something you can add.

Great job! (20/11/2007)
This gadget handles the basic needs of Skype users, namely you can see who is online and initiate calls or chats easily. However, it is a work in progress and I do look forward to the phone number functionality and possibly some color options. Despite this, it is a great gadet. Thanks!

Great with x32. Issue with x64 (work-around) (03/01/2009)
For x64 users, the dev published this potential work-around: Skype Gadget uses Skype4COM.dll in order to communicate with Skype. This component can only run on 32 bits so in order to use the gadget on a 64 bits OS you need to run the Sidebar as a 32-bit application. This can be done as follows: Go to the sidebar properties and uncheck the “Start sidebar when windows starts” checkbox. Open the “Program Files (x86)Windows Sidebar” folder and launch the sidebar from there. Now you have the 32 bits version running. Go to this new sidebar’s properties and check “Start sidebar when windows starts”. Add the gadget on sidebar.

Good idea (19/11/2007)
Skype for the sidebar is a very good idea, but should only display contacts that are really on, so that there's no need to scroll thru the pages.
