OK, so this is what i think it does, but i am very happy for microsoft to correct me. First of all , it appears to change the 'softness' of your image, and that is meant to happen in a way that has what is known as a 'small footprint' ,basically it should not use up all your memory like most graphics applications. Then theres the colour scheme, maybe, ah, yes and i think it is responsible for the image preview windows that pop out of Live application images, with all that interesting info that i am sure you all take for granted now. mmmm, what else, well it may be the missing link for Live applications, and of course its got a thing about Live Streaming too, thats RSS , maybe XML , Live feads in general.I think it is also part of the Ultimate Vista Suite..using WMV overlays or maybe wmxml files or something similar, stretching it a bit if your using XP. Oh yes and theres that great bit of wallpaper and the Logo, all kinda blue and new and clean. Well, thats it as far as i can gather, of course no one should be without it, unless of course you really can do with out it, bit like games software really, who needs it? IDO..IDO...IDo, no, i donnot want any games at all, just the XBOX media player which is great!

Ever since I have installed this I can not use Explorer anymore. I just sits there trying to install Silverlight and it never does so my Explorer doesn't load. I have to do a "ctrl, alt, delete" to get out of it. I have been using Firefox since and it has been about 6-8 months. I have tried to uninstall Silverlight but I can't find it to uninstall it. I have gone as far as uninstalling Explorer and reinstalling it but it is still there. Can anyone help????

The plugin is really cool and easy to use, however it has poor error handling capability. I tried upload file that is not properly encoded into my account (eg. gabage xml manifest etc). Instead of telling me that my file can not be loaded, the plugin crashes Windows Live Type Writer. This is especially a problem if the error encoded file is the first file in my account since this plugin automatically load the first file in the list after refresh. Plugin from Media Encoder which has identical functionality gives me warning that I am missing <version> tag and it didn't crash the program.

Hi, I installed this and really hope it works, however, it doesn't show my applications. I see them on the silverlight.live.com website, but not in the tool.
