OK - THIS IS HOW TO MAKE IT WORK (03/03/2008)
I see that a bunch of people had trouble getting it to work. So did I.
Good thing I work with this kind of stuff all the time.
Here’s how to make it work.
The file you download is an .msi file named “Setup Insert Formatted Clipboard plugin for Windows Live Writer.msi” (an .msi file is a Windows Installer Package file). Make it easy on yourself and rename the file “go”
Open a cmd window and navigate to the folder containing your downloaded .msi file.
Type ‘msiexec /a go /log .\log.txt’ (since this file is a little jacked up, it won’t ask you were to install it, like it should, but the log file will indicate where it put the plugin).
You will now see a file name log.txt (or just log) in the folder with the renamed .msi . Open this file with a text editor. Use Notepad if you like.
Search for the string “InstallFiles: File:” – you will find that one of the instances of this string will preface the file system directory that it put the plugin files in.
On my system it put the files in “C:\Program Files\Noah Coad\Insert Formatted Clipboard plugin for Windows Live Writer\Program Files Folder\Windows Live Writer\Plugins\”
Navigate to whatever folder the log file indicates. You have now found the plugin .dll file.
Copy it to “C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Writer\Plugins”
Restart Windows Live Write and Viola!
Works like a charm now (you’ll need to click the Insert Clipboard button inside the Insert tab on the right to get it to format properly. CTRL-C/CTRL-V doesn’t quit do it right).

Hate it
will not install (11/11/2007)
I had the same problem as ChillerBagins. Wish I could get it to work. I even updated to the most recent version - still won't install. (I also don't get the Yes/No buttons on the popup).

Don't like it
will not install (30/10/2007)
I would like this if it worked. However it will not install - the installer pops up a dialog stating that it needs Live Writer YES/NO
It then just opens a browser tab at the Live Writer home page.
I have the latest live Writer installed as of post date. Using Vista HP.

Excellent! (27/11/2006)
This is an awesome plugin! Just copy & paste text directly from a website, to your blog, and all the Rich-Text from the section of that website that you copied from, comes with it.

Using ITSolve guideline, I manage to installed it. But when I click the "Insert Clipboard", this message appear:
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.mshtml, Version=7.0.3300.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified............

ITSolve's method works without a hitch! (16/03/2008)
Just follow the steps outlined by ITSolve to get the plugin working:
1. rename the file to go.msi
2. Open a command window in the go.msi folder and type "msiexec /a go /log .\log.txt"
3. The plugin installation program will run. Follow the instructions (click next etc)
4. After installation navigate to the location where the plugin got installed and copy the dll file to Writer's plugin folder.
5. Restart Writer and you are good to go.

my findings to "Please Install WLW before installing the plug-in" (24/02/2008)
Like a few champs below I had the same problem. When I checked program files, there was a folder "windows live writer" and "windows live/writer". the former was blank as i presume it came from a previous installation of windows live writer. I copied everything from the latter folder into the former folder, and got the install working. However, on running WLW, there is a file not found error. Can anyone tell me how to get WLW and the plugins to install to the right folder, because it does seem that the older and newer versions of WLW install to different directories.
