Disappears with out notice. Try to re-add; no error or other feedback; but does not reappear in the sidebar.

Having the disappear problem

This is great, but like others I havethe problem that it disappears from the sidebar and eon't allow itself to be reinserted without uninstalling and reinstalling. I had wondered whether the disappears coincide with the computer being shut down or rebooted rather than going to sleep?

I have heard of some disappearing problems. I have had no problems at all. One suggestion to people that have problems is to increase your screen resolution and see if you can then see the gadget somewhere else on your screen. Of course, you can drag and move any gadget to anywhere on your screen. It doesn't have to be located in the Sidebar at all. You can move Vista gadgets all over and they will stay there. So maybe at some point it was accidentally moved off the screen, perhaps just to the right of the sidebar where you can't see it. I am guessing that it is still there and running normally, but accidentally was dragged towards the edge of the screen and then adjusts itself a little bit and consequently moves off-screen enough where you don't see it. I would also try turning off any acceleration on the graphics card. There may be some sort of conflict with that: [control panel > personalization > display settings > advanced > troubleshoot]. From what I understand, the gadget itself wouldn't be able to have any control as to whether it disappears or not. The problem, I think, must lie somewhere else. I am not sure if the sidebar runs in safe mode, but that would be the next thing I would try if you are still having problems. Upon your next startup of your computer, tap the F8 key until you see the boot menu. Select safe mode and boot to the safe mode desktop. Sometimes simply going in to safe mode for a moment, and then restarting in to the normal Vista, will reset some variable and will enable some things to start working again that previously didn't work for some reason. Anyways, I do like this gadget. It seems to be fast responding to the weather here in my area. Much much faster than other weather gadgets. I can trust this gadget much more to have the precise correct information. I live in Waikiki, Oahu, Hawaii. It can start raining here very fast without warning. The gadget tells me quickly so I can make plans accordingly. Aloha.

I have no problems with this gadget. It works like it's designed to do. Maybe if people updated to version 1.5 they might solve their problem with older versions of this gadget disappearing on them.

I have the same problems, it disappears, I like the gadget it is wonderful when it stays put. I have uninstalled and reinstalled so many times is it worth it

I not problems, good!!!

Even though many say its bad, they have fixed all of the glitches it seems cuz I've restarted many times or just turned off my comp and it always here and works great! Its version 1.6 now so it works perfect!!

I already have the Weather Channel Desktop on my taskbar having it on my side bar is a nice addition as I usually have the taskbar hidden, all i need to do now is look over to the sidebar to check the weather.

I've used other weather gadgets in the past (weather bug, accuweather) but this one is far superior! The graphics are AMAZING and the design is excellent. Compliments to the developer and the entire TWCi team
