to see the scientific functions, detach the calculator by dragging and dropping into/onto your desktop. to allow for the keyboard to work, right click the calculator/options/change from degrees to radians. to make the percent option work, it works if you use something like 50 x .5 = and you'll get 25, as opposed to the percentage sign. cool gadget.

Simple, basic calculator. Pretty much the same as the one available through the Start menu but this one is right on the sidebar.
