Hate it
Not for 64bit systems (13/09/2008)
It's rather unfortunate (and a bit lame, I might add) that MS hasn't come up with a 64bit version of this gadget, along with a 64bit version of Silverlight.

x64 Support (26/05/2009)
As suggested in many other posts; I don't see why people are still creating applications without x64 support; especially MS, a company who's Operating System won't support more than 4GB RAM without using x64 architecture!

re: Nice in theory, but probally won't catch on. (16/01/2009)
Cute little item, about time and should be developed for Media Centre. However, you're right, it won't catch on unless it runs through messenger. While it's a nice bonus to come with the camera, it will have to be universally compatable to those 'undeserving' of such a premium program. Now, due to hardware, I haven't run the program. I'd have to check prices, but I'm already happy with my current cam. But I will soon be upgrading, and my major considerations for my computer is it's communications abilities. And any camera, whose's software interferes with any of my communications regardless whatever software the other party is using, will find itself instantly, and violently, removed.

Nice in theory, but probably won't catch on. (15/09/2008)
This looks very cool but unless you remove the LifeCam requirement this just won't fly. How many people are really going to be successful in getting all their friends or family switched over to LifeCams? "Hi mom, I know you have a webcam built in to that laptop I suggested you buy so you could easily chat with me, but would you mind buying a new external cam to clip on to it so we can use this video messaging application?" That just won't fly. I know the point is to sell LifeCams but instead how about making work for all cams regardless of manufacturer and have it be free for folks with LifeCams or $10 for those with another brand?

Don't like it
as usual from microsoft no 64 bit version (08/02/2009)
well i have to say a vast company as ms wth almost unlimited resources at their disposal and having bought out the 64 bit operating system you would think they would start making a few more apps and drivers for this operating ystem if not why not just drop the 64 bit os altogether,as we seem to be third class citizens in this day of forward technology
