The Sidebar Battery Gadget supports displaying battery information in the sidebar. Features include:

* View multiple battery status
* Reports tired battery information
* Responds to battery messages rather than polling to improve battery life and performance
* Responds to overheated batteries

Many older laptops may experience battery fatigue. A full charge will frequently result in less operational time. As this degrades over time, it may be better to purchase a new battery. On supported hardware, this tool will inform you of the percentage of power available to you so you can decide when a battery may need to be replaced.

Best looking battery meter, but 'flawed' (29/04/2008)
I chose this gadget as it was the best looking meter by far, unfortunatley occasionally stops the Vista Sidebar working and I am doubtful that the performance of a month old battery can only be at 60% as this meter suggested. I would welcome an updated battery gadget as this definately has potential.

Extra Process (10/09/2008)
I found out that in the task manager, sidebar.exe is running twice because of this gadget. Other than that it looks quite nice.

Vista Ult x64, HP DV9000 laptop. Says "Object Doesn't Support this Property or Method" then sits indefinitely with a wait cursor.

This is the best I've seen. (22/06/2008)
Despite what other reviewers have said, I think this is the best battery sidebar gadget available. It has a sleek look and works fine for me even with the round prongs on the plug LOL. As for complaints about it warning that your battery needs replacement, it's probably because the manufacturer programmed the battery's Design Capacity too high. In my HP notebook, all the batteries are programmed with a Design Capacity of 88.8Wh. The problem is that HP only supplies batteries with a Full Charge Capacity of 63Wh and 73Wh. So once the battery drops below 53.3Wh, the warning comes on. To change it, simply change the Replace Battery Point percentage in the Battery section under Power Options. If you want to see what your battey's Design Capacity and Full Charge Capacity are you'll need a program that can read it's SMBus data. I would like to see a time remaining display added to it though, but it may not be possible given the Sidebar Gadget constraints.

I can't change skin in vista 64 (21/03/2008)
Hi! I read on many sites that link to this gadget that it has many skins, but I can't change them, because no option to configure the gadget is available. Any idea?Thanks
