The Microsoft TechNet Gadget for Australia and New Zealand delivers information from several of the common news feeds and security alerts.

It supports up to 6 feeds with TechNet Highlights and Basic Security Alerts as default options. A range of other feeds are selectable with options for more comprehensive security alerts, Australian and New Zealand IT News and TechNet Virtual Labs.

You can see items that have been read or unread at a glance. The security ticker glows red when there is something that you have not seen before.

The integrated TechNet Search means you can type a search query and it will launch a web browser window with the TechNet Search results.

Blocked by Proxy (6/26/2007)
I can't get this working through a proxy server. Can we get this modded to read IE connection details, hijack an existing connection or better yet allow for configuration within the gadget?

Hate it
too much noise (6/25/2007)
I like this, btu there really needs to be more customisation, especially with the max number of active entries - it shouldn't be the feed that decides but the user. there really also needs to be a way to switch off the scrolling marquee text. not keeping thie ons

Great Tool!! (6/20/2007)
Great tool, My only sugestion for improvment would be to stop the feeds from flipping to the next set if you are hovering over an artical to see if you want to expand it.
