It Works (2/5/2009)
The Skype Vista Gadget works fine just make sure in the Skype Options> Advance> Manage Other Programs access Skype> allow Sidebar.exe. this gadget is awesome 5 stars like to see more work on this. Like Windows Lives Messenger gadget too

It says check if Skype is running and access control settings...hmm...skype IS running...any additional setings i should change?

Skype 4.0.0.206 version works on Vista! (3/16/2009)
I like this so far, just got it, will be trying it out more. I will post anything that I don't like if I find it. It works just fine though so far with the latest version of skype on vista 32-bit.
