Sideshow is cool. (18/08/2007)
works great on my sideshow device. also, to the last person, gmail supports adam feeds / rss feeds. If you want to read your gmail on your desktop. simply go to your gmail inbox click the little rss icon at the top of Internet explorer, and hit subscribe. then use the rss gadget that came with vista to read you email. single clicking a message alows you to read the whole thing on your desktop. Double clicking a message takes you to the message online.

Thumbs down (29/12/2007)
Doesn't seem to be much point having a SideShow tool when one has to log in on the main screen every time you start up ... there does't seem to be any way to save the password/username.
However, I installed, sent a test message and waited. My GMail Notifier reported a new message ... SideShow did not for some time. Eventually SideShow reported a new message, but would not allow me to read it.
I will stick with GMail Notifier.

SIDESHOW, not sidebar (20/07/2007)
People, please read before your review! This is not for sidebar, it's not even for your main monitor. It is for sidebar. Access this through the control panel. Search for sideshow.

Confusing (10/09/2007)
Sorry Mate, I think Google Talk does this much better, unless normal user can get this in sidebar is not of much use.

Instructions (29/05/2007)
After you install it, it appears in the SideShow (not SideBar) control panel, and you can select which SideShow device you want to run it on. You then have to restart the PC with the gadget enabled for it to prompt you for login credentials.
Note to Ben: Nice job--a very useful gadget. I noticed a bug where the application puts an icon in the quickbar, but this does not appear to do anything, and if you disable and enable the gadget, it creates multiple icons in the quickbar. Also, it would be cool if you could side-scroll through the mail messages when you were reading them in detail, so you didn't have to press 'back' to go to the list.

Thanks Toby (29/05/2007)
Thanks for the correction there Toby. The icon in the taskbar should bring up the login prompt when you click it. (You don't have to restart) I'll fix the multiple icons bug and make the up/down arrows scroll.

Doesn't Work (21/05/2007)
Installer seems to install the application, but it is nowhere to be found. Does not appear in sidebar, in start menu, anywhere!
