Many programs use RGB color hex codes. Colour Picker from Microsoft Live Labs (http://livelabs.com) makes it easy for you to use the colors you use most across all applications. It's fun to explore, discover, and save new color combinations. Even if you don't use it in your applications, it looks nice as a decoration on the sidebar. This gadget incorporates the API from colourlovers.com, a resource that monitors and influences color trends.

Good but doesn't work properly for me. (9/23/2008)
Running Vista x64 and can't get it to display properly, it keeps saying it's trying to install Flash Player (even though that's already on my system).

Will work on 64bit Vista (9/27/2008)
...but you have to run the Sidebar in 32bit mode.

How it works (12/9/2008)
1 - search for a palette. 2 - use the dropper ON the gadget 3 - paste the Hex value into your code the dropper obviously only works on the gadget. it copies the hex to the clipboard so you can paste it elsewhere.

Problem with x64 systems (2/16/2009)
Adobe flash media player is not supported for x64 systems yet. for me not worth it to run anything in 32 bit since every hardware and software that I have is X64 supported, would be a waste of time and energy to run things in 32 bit,.....

Looks good but doesn't work (10/19/2009)
I'd very much love to see this gadget get updated. I tried installing it on a Win7-x64 machine at work and it doesn't work. I get the white circles but not their content.
