The Sidebar Radio is a fully functional Media Player. You can begin listening to your favorite music after entering a station's streaming data into the gadget's database. Streaming data can either be entered as an audio stream url or the url of a station's own media player. Audio streams are played in a fully functional windows Media Player. Volume control, player status, visualizations and station name are all available direct on the gadget. Playlist and other controls are available via the contex menu. Website media players are played from an invissible web browser. The Media Player's controls are disabled. This feature allows the usage of Proxies to bypass IP-address verification. I am not allowed to provide you with urls of audio streams due to German copyright laws concerning deep linking. I do however, provide you with tips on locating urls in internet. I would be happy to share my database with all my friends. Feel free to contact me if you have any problems or comments.

The display shows the Station name that you entered. You MUST add your streams. The database is empty at the start. Tips are provided for finding streams in internet.

Too Hard (20/01/2010)
I would love to use this gadget, and I've rated in the middle since I'm sure this is a really well made gadget. Unfortunately I have no idea how to get the details needed to get some radio stations added and there isn't as much assistance as the description implies.

Really good gadget. I just wish it could have a timer facility so it will auto power off the gadget after a set time and maybe an alarm too. Any chance that could be added ?

Help setting up- not working for me (21/08/2008)
I have installed the radio and have added valid stream URLs to the list. They work when used in a stand along browser however when these streams are in sidebarradio, i can't hear anything. The radio does not seem to want to play them. Can anyone give setup advice?

Fast and Easy (22/07/2008)
I had to use URL Snooper to find the URL for my streaming station, and the I just copied and pasted it into this and I'm playing it live from my windows sidebar. Perfect companion to Pandora and StreamPad Podcast player that I converted to Windows Sidebar with Amnesty Generator. Now I can listen to my live streaming radio outside of my browser!
